Frequently Asked Questions
What other contractors will I need to hire?
We will build any custom timber-frame structure. This includes interior and exterior walls and support, but clients are responsible for hiring finishing contractors. This includes roofing, plumbing, and any other touches you may need depending on the use case of your final structure. We would be happy to provide a list of preferred contractors! And of course, we will coordinate with your finishing contractors to create the perfect home.
How long will it take to build my timber frame?
Obviously structure size and scope will affect each project timeline. However, after we have finalized your project renderings, the building process lasts about
three months. This allows for delivery of materials, building of your structure (off site), and assembling of your structure (on site). For a more accurate understanding of a potential timeline of your project, please reach out to our team.
What kind of structures do you build?
We specialize in timber frame structures. These can be barns, homes, barndominiums, cabins, or a custom structure that fits your precise needs. Once the timber framing is complete, we hand off the process to finishing contractors to complete final touches.
What is the difference between a pole barn and a timber frame?
Pole barns are made with common lumber, last only a few decades, and are easily susceptible to extreme weather. Timber frame structures are made from large posts and beams using an ancient style of interlocking timbers. They can last for hundreds of years and will be more resilient to the elements.
